Stewed Kidney Beans (Rajma)
A simple one pot preparation that works as a meal or a side dish. Serve over rice or roti along with seasoned yogurt. The flavor of ginger, garlic and garam masala add wonderful warmth to the beans for a meal that is both hearty and comforting.
Spicemode Masala Cooking Sauce
2 15oz cans of Organic Kidney Beans, Rinsed
Medium Onion, Chopped
1. Drain and rinse beans and set aside. In a medium size pot add a splash of oil and chopped onions. Saute for 5 minutes until translucent.
2. Add jar of Masala Cooking Sauce and cook for a minute until fragrant and warm. Next add beans and stir until nicely combined. Add unto a can of water, covering beans by less than an inch and bring to simmer. Cook for 10 minutes until all the flavors combine. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro + scallions.
Tips : Smash a couple spoonfulls of beans to the side of the pot after 5 minutes of cooking to thicken the gravy.
